My name is Brianna Shell and I'm a seventeen year old artist from Iowa.
I create art because it allows me to express myself and get lost from the outside world. I love how I can adjust things to make it aesthetically pleasing to me, and tell the story and perspective that I want to share and bring focus to. I strive to make something beautiful, connecting, and for me to be proud of.
I love photography because it allows me to capture a moment exactly as it is. I am able to give emphasis and bring attention to the things I find beauty in. I love painting because it allows me to play with colors and brush strokes. I love drawing because I like having control over the lines I create.
My process for creating art is simple. I usually get inspiration from looking at visuals or creating a scenario in my head. When I see something inspiring, I focus on what aspects of it I want to draw attention towards, and then I do a quick sketch showing the placement of the main features before going for it.
I've been making art and taking art classes since I was young. I've always enjoying making my visions come to life. In my current artwork, I strive to do different techniques and subjects than I've done in the past to expand my skills.
